Prince Aemond, also known as Aemond the One-Eye, was a member of House Targ, the second son of King Viserys I and Alicent Hightower, and the younger brother of King Aegon II. Like his siblings, Aemond was a dragon rider, riding the largest and most powerful dragon alive at the time, the majestic dragon Vhagar. As a child, Aemond was smaller but also much wilder than his brother Aegon. After losing his right eye in a fight as a child, he began wearing a sapphire in its place.
