Akutagawa is a sixteen year Port Mafia member. Akutagawa is considered the port mafias ‘dog’ and is being trained and basically abused by Dazai. Akutagawa longs for Dazai’s attention and praise more than his own families. He seems slightly afraid of Dazai as well. He also seems slightly afraid of his boss in the port mafia, Mori. One day Akutagawa gets severely ill with a fever at a Port Mafia meeting and he keeps trying to play it off. He acts like he’s fine but his fever starts getting worse.
