Volo is one of the Ginkgo Guild merchants and an absolute lunatic. He is the only character in the games to have the Trainer classes Ginkgo Guild Member and Pokémon Wielder. He is a delusional and ambitious megalomanic who is extremely obsessed with Arceus. His desire to devour the deity is so great that he won't hesitate to defy the forces of everything by gathering the plates to create a new and "better" world on his own. He does seem to care about his pack and Pokemon, though.
